Dedicated Child Care and Housekeeping Enthusiast

My name is Miriam, and I am 22 years old. Originally from Slovakia, I have spent the past three years in the Netherlands pursuing my psychology studies at Leiden University, where I am currently completing my bachelor’s degree. Although university demands much of my time, I also dedicate my free moments to volunteering, especially with children, as it has proven to be one of the most fulfilling experiences for me. My journey with children began in Slovakia when I volunteered in a hospital’s oncology unit, where I spent time with children battling cancer. Witnessing their resilience and gratitude, despite their suffering, profoundly inspired me. This initial experience sparked my passion for working with children. Subsequently, I participated in a program aimed at integrating Roma children into society, where I taught them practical skills, morals, and basic education. After moving to the Netherlands, I continued my volunteer work as a buddy for a five-year-old girl. I engaged her in activities, taught her baking, assisted with homework, and spent entire days with her. This role provided me with invaluable insights into children's perspectives and their needs from caregivers. The primary goal of applying to this platform is to merge my passion with work, allowing me to support my studies and life in the Netherlands financially. I am committed to bringing all my experience and genuine care to any home I may join.
